I heard that the Microsoft company will soon stop supporting Microsoft Windows XP. True or false?

I was talking to my mother about this situation. We have Windows XP Home edition, and we heard a rumor that the corp. was considering just stopping the whole support system for XP and forcing people to upgrade to Windows Vista. I was curios if this was all true, could somebody give me their opinion on this topic?I heard that the Microsoft company will soon stop supporting Microsoft Windows XP. True or false?
Yes, but you don't have to worry the support for XP are available so much out there. Including from us here in Yahoo! Answers. True. XP support will end in 2014.





Microsoft (and other software companies like Apple) uses a forced-upgrade product release model to keep the revenue flowing in. Your old OS becomes obsolete, forcing you to pay for the upgrade.





This has made Microsoft (and others) a multi-billion dollar corporation. Since this model has worked very well for them, it won't be going away any time soon.
True, they are trying to push everyone into using Vista, hence the faulty SP3, alot of people have trouble with SP3, its because SP3 is a trick into making people think that XP no longer works as it shuld

MSFT quit selling Windows XP (though some OEMs can offer it as they have a different arrangement), but will support it (i.e. patch security holes, etc.) until 2014
not going to stop support but stoped production and now with vista
i think it was wrong information. they will give support atleast 5years too.
Well, a day will definitely come when Microsoft stops supporting Windows XP, but dont worry, as it will not happen in the near future !!
It will happen, but not any time soon.XP was their most successful OS ever, they know millions have it, and wouldn't dare to try to stop support too soon.
